Board member since 2021

John’s career as a journalist has spanned 40+ years, covering technology, engineering and business.  He has written for the Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, PC Week, EDN, Design News, Electronic Business, Bio-IT World, Lowell Sun, Haverhill Gazette and Newburyport Daily News.  John’s personal blog, The Dodge Retort, originally focused on engineering, IT and business until he retired in 2021.  The blog continues but the focus now centers on John’s public service and recreation.  John lives in West Newbury where he serves on the West Newbury Open Space Committee, working closely with Essex County Greenbelt.  He has worked on local campaigns, is administrator of the West Newbury People Facebook community, and is a retired call firefighter.  John enjoys cycling for charity and lending support to local nonprofits.  John is married to Ann Dooley and they have two adult children.
