Board Member since 2021

Lesa began her professional career as a teacher for 7 years, first in rural Arkansas, and then in a high school in Dallas, Texas.  She left teaching for an educational sales position with Laidlaw Publishing Company as she worked on her PhD at Texas Woman’s University.   Lesa next began a 13 year career with Scott Foresman Publishing, culminating with the position of National Sales Manager and Vice President of Marketing with the company. Her next position was as a Vice President of Marketing for Scholastic.  In 2001, Lesa accepted a position as President of Heinemann in Portsmouth, NH. working for 14 years with this educational professional development company.  As she began thinking of retirement, Lesa instead accepted an opportunity to become President of Highlights Education Group (Highlights for Children) for 5 Years.  Lesa is now retired!  She does continue her longtime commitment to City Year New Hampshire, where she sits as a Board member, and to City Year National.  Lesa lives in Amesbury.
